In my research laboratory currently located at the University of Patras Medical School, we have been performing research in lipidology for over 20 years. Using unique animal models and advanced molecular approaches we explore the exciting world of lipoproteins for better health.

 

Our preclinical studies aim at unraveling molecular links between the lipoprotein transport system and diseases such as dyslipidemia, morbid obesity and diabetes. Ultimate goal of our studies is the identification of novel pharmacological targets and the creation of individualized therapies.

 

Our clinical studies focus on the better understanding of pharmacotherapy and the potential synergism between therapies for increased therapeutic efficacy. Along these lines, we provide consulting services to the Pharmaceutical industry, for post-marketing evaluation and product safety assessment. To increase the impact of our work, the scientists of my team come from different disciplines of biomedical research, contributing to an interdisciplinary approach to all projects.
